3 PE's done!

Yahoo! I got my first class 2 finished today. It was fun to use the ultrasonic to get all that calculous off! It took me a little longer than would have been great but I only had 1 error! Baby is good! It is fun to see the facial features! See ya next week!

1/2 Class 2

Well, my patien today was a class 2 & quite jumpy to probing so we opted to get him numb. Good choice I must admit. I used the ultrasonic on a real patient for the first time. That was interesting. It will take some time to get used to. I just did 2 quads today but I was disapointed that I didn't have perfect scaling. Perhaps I exptect a little too much or maybe I just need more practice. Probably a combination of the two. I have another class 2 on Wed. so we'll see about the practice. The big ultrasound is this afternoon. That will be fun. Stock doesn't get to go so that makes me sad but oh well. Talk to you WED.

Dentures

When I cld to cmfm my pt for today she said she was just in 1 month ago. So the scrambling began. Luckily my uncle who was scheduled for next month was able to come in on short notice. He has a full upper denture & only 10 teeth including a 4unit bridge on the lower anterior. I am happy to say I finished a pt from begining to end today. Yahoo!! I was hoping for a 2 but he was a 5. That's okay cause I needed one of those too. Baby is good! Our 3D ultrasound is on Monday. I'll let you know how it went next week.

Ultrasonic

Yahoo! That was fun. I'm looking forward to using it on pts.

Well...

Today was ok. I still didn't get to scaling. This paperwork stuff drives me nuts. On a positive note, I did get another set of BWX & we will take a PA when she comes back. Baby is good.

Wahoo!

Yeah! I got to scale today. Now that's exciting. But the best part is that I didn't have to re-do any areas! I Finally feel like I've accomplished something. See ya next week!

Frustration!

ANOTHER CLASS 3!! I'm beginning to feel quite frustrated! I havn't scaled since my first patient this semester. I'm starting to worry about getting all my quads in. I haven't been able to get past OD & it shouldn't take 2.5 hrs to do that! On a positive note...I got a full mouth set of x-rays done today. I ended up giving my patient to Celeste because I don't need another 3 but she will trade me a 1B which is what I really need so that's another positive for today. My patient on WED has been in already & I just need to scale her so I can end my no-scaling streak.
P.S. 21wks & I feel like I've grown over night! Everything still looks good!

Clinic Assistant

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to be CA. It was fun. It was just me so I was busy all day long. I was hoping to be able to help everyone else a little more but didn't have time. Perhaps in April.

Another class 2

Well, I found another class 2 today. I was able to take BWX but didn't get to scaling. He was quite jumpy probing & so that plan is to get him numb for his cleaning which means 2 apts. instead of 1 more. He didn't speak or understand much English which made it difficult too. On top of that, his wife was in today as well & they brought their 2 yr old. He was a handful to try to keep track of. He almost made it out the front doors to the parking lot once, luckily, I found him before he made it all the way outside. I'm hoping to get to scale one of these days.
